Magnificent Grand Pequot Tower in Mashantucket, Connecticut
Most Luxurious Hotel Tower at Foxwoods Resort Casino
Shops include Foxwoods Watch Company, Chopard, Bulgari, Essentials, and Judith Ripka while restaurants include David Burke Prime Steakhouse, Burke in the Box, Al Dente, Golden Dragon, and Veranda Café.
The hotel features 24-hour room service, complimentary valet parking, high speed Internet access in every room, a business center with wireless Internet access, a VIP check-in area, a lobby level gift shop, a 25,000 square foot ballroom, meeting rooms and a 5-floor underground parking garage with two elevators providing access from the garage to the casino level.
During my recent stay at the Grand Pequot Tower, I and my girlfriend enjoyed staying in one of the deluxe rooms which are 450 square feet.
These rooms are the largest deluxe rooms at Foxwoods and are available with one king or two double beds.
Large wooden armories on either side of an entertainment center offer storage and an in-room safe.
The television features cable television programming and On-Demand movies costing more than $10 each.
In addition to a breakfast table and chairs, deluxe rooms come with a coffee maker, iron and ironing board, refrigerator, and writing desk.
Staying on the 19th floor with a southern view onto the reservation, the room's large windows showed a beautiful countryside along with the Pequot Indian Museum observation tower and a glow from street lights from afar.
They also include large bathrooms with a marble tiled bathtub and shower combination with hairdryer and vanity area.
The hotel also features parlor suites at 570 square feet consisting of a living room with an entertainment center and a dining area with seating for 6 people.
Adjacent to the living area is a wet bar featuring a coffee maker with tea and coffee and a refrigerator stocked with soda and bottled water.
The room features a queen size Murphy bed, hidden by a wall of cabinetry when not in use.
A marble bathtub and shower combination with shower combination, hairdryer, and vanity area are located in the bathroom.
The parlor room can be combined with one or two deluxe rooms for a one or two bedroom suite. One room connects with the parlor area while the second adjoins next door.
None of the parlor rooms are handicap-accessible.
Parlor rooms come with the same features as the deluxe rooms, specifically a coffee maker, iron and ironing board, refrigerator, and writing desk.
One step above this is the one bedroom suite which is 900 square feet and includes a bedroom and living room separated by a door.
The elegant master bathroom features a whirlpool-jet bathtub, hairdryer, and a glass shower stall.
The living area includes a couch seating area and an entertainment center.
Adjacent to this is a wet bar, similar to the parlor suite, featuring a coffee maker with tea and coffee and a refrigerator stocked with soda and bottled water.
Off the living area is a half-bathroom.
All of the one bedroom suites have a king size bed, bathrooms, a safe and can be connected to a corner suite.
The petite suite, also 900 square feet, includes a bedroom and living room, in the same open space, separated by entertainment centers and wardrobe closets.
All of the other features are similar to the one bedroom suite except that petite suites either have king-sized beds or two double beds.
The center petite suite, 1,000 square feet, has a bedroom with separate living area but has similar features to the petite suite except that they all have a king-sized bed, bathrooms, and a safe and can be connected with a deluxe room with two double beds.
The 1,400 square foot corner suite also features similar features except that its master bath has two sinks and these suites can be connected to a one-bedroom suite.
The most luxurious suite is the two-bedroom end suite which is 1,350 square feet providing an open living and dining area.
A 42 inch plasma TV with Bose surround sound, a wet bar, refrigerator, half bath, and walk in foyer closet are in the living room while the dining room has a dining table with glass top and chairs for six.
A king-sized bed is located in the master bedroom which features a large bathroom with a make-up vanity, whirlpool-jet bath tub, and shower stall.
The second bedroom features two queen sized beds with a shower/tub combination in its bathroom.
These suites are on both smoking and non-smoking floors.
The Grand Pequot Tower is also equipped with several villas with spacious living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and fireplaces allowing high-rollers to entertain their guests in style.
These villas are "invitation only" and are on the tower's secured 23rd and 24th floors and are booked exclusively through the casino's Casino Marketing and Player Development departments.
For those staying at the Grand Pequot Tower forgetting something from home, the housekeeping department can provide a number of items including cribs, blankets, feather or foam pillows, bed boards, extra towels, iron and ironing boards, sewing kites, hairdryers, notepads and pens, shower chairs, shaving cream, razors, disposable toothbrushes with toothpaste, mouthwash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, bath gel, shower caps, ice buckets, glasses, refrigerator, coffee/tea/sugar/creamer, HSIA cords, and bottled water for $3.99.
Rollaway beds are available to specific rooms and suites at the Grand Pequot Tower based on the Fire Safety Code and are on a request basis, subject to availability, at a cost of $10 plus 12 % per rollaway per night.
