Main Stream Media Undermines Our Army's Role in a Democracy
A Demoralized Army is the Last Thing We Want in Afghanistan
The latest breed of Main Stream journalists forget that the fundamental freedom they have in pursuing their jobs comes from the fact that this nation is a Democracy.
Not from army or authoritarian rule!
Freedom comes at a price - that price is the duty of each us to use that freedom without undermining Democracy.
It has become fashionable for the Main Stream media to strike at the very existence of Democracy for a few dollars.
Yes, the role of the army in this country is that of a protector, not that of a ruler. To defend this nation from enemies.
But to set up the army against the pillars of Democracy - the Sovereignty (represented by the President), the People (represented by the Congress) and the Law (represented by the Judiciary) is an action only enemies and traitors of USA will do.
And that is exactly what our Main Stream media has done.
Yes, the army may have some likes and dislikes of its own. But to display both, it has to follow proper channels prescribed by Democracy.
Conducting and reporting an interview with an army general should not be taken lightly the same way they collect scoops on philandering and divorcing celebrities.
Neither is it a paparazzo's job.
With Main Stream media debasing itself into treating every reporting as an exercise in yellow journalism, they are totally at a loss to treat subjects of national importance with the seriousness and responsibility warranted.
I won't be surprised if our army distances itself from the Main Stream media considering the way the latter have hijacked the direct route the army enjoyed to the People's government through the Department of Defense.
That the Main Stream tried to twist and demoralize the US army for selfish motives is not surprising.
Because it was the same Main Stream who tried to brainwash the American people so that our warriors will be fighting wars on distant alien lands, wars which were not of our making!
Having helped sending our valiant warriors on harm's way by misrepresentation of facts before the people,
they should now leave the army alone.
There is no Republican army, no Democratic army, no Tea Party army.
There is only one army for the people of USA - army of the United States of America.
We salute our army for their unflinching sense duty, unquestionable patriotism and ultimate sacrifice,
but should not selfishly manipulate their good name for getting a few wads of dollars in our paychecks like the minions of Main Stream media did.
