You need to spend a bit of time working out what is really important to you. If you have a strong feeling that reading and mathematics are the most important subjects, and you do not always have time for the lesser tasks then it is not a huge issue. However, keeping a close eye on what is most important to you will ensure that you are able to really stay focused, rather than getting easily distracted when you are searching for ways to add extra hours to the schedule.
Many times because you are trying to get more in than you really have time for you find that you are slacking or feel like you are slacking on some areas that you want to focus on. As long as you are making time for the critical issues that you want to cover, you can generally get away with cutting a few corners on some other subjects, tasks and projects for a little while until things smooth out in your schedule.
Of course, it is still very important to make the time to come back and hit these important areas after things have smoothed out. Knowing that you do not have to focus solely on the entire schedule can enable you to quickly and easily pick out the important parts, and only focus on them, rather than struggling to fit more into a day than you really have time for.
Deciding that you do not have enough time to cover everything that you want is important, it means that you really do have a good understanding of how much time you have available to you, and realize when it is time to start looking at your priorities to determine what can be missed, what can wait, and what absolutely requires attention immediately. By working within the confines of your schedule, you will ensure that you not only get the best result for your schedule, but you also help your child to learn how to properly manage their time, rather than take on more tasks than they can really handle.
