Upon entering the spa, you are directed to a low cushioned table to lie on face up. Your feet are placed in a tub of warm water, while you are covered in a towel for warmth. The mood of the room is mellow, the lights are dim, and there is soft music playing. Clientele are fully dressed for the massage. Therefore, more than one client can be accommodated in a room. While it is a personal experience, you can attend with a spouse or a group of friends and all be pampered at the same time. Therapists can be either male or female.
The massage begins at your forehead and temples. This continues with your head, back of neck and such. The therapist will move down your arms and hands, with minimal work on your hips and legs. The therapist then spends a considerable amount on your legs and feet once taken out of the footbath. At this point, your massage is about half over and you are asked to turn over. The massage continues with your shoulders, back, buttocks and legs. The pressure and rubbing is unlike any other. For some, it is too much pressure and can be a balance between comfort and pain. Some have described it as a good pain. When the massage is over, you feel significantly worked on, often being described as feeling like jello! The massage lasts for an hour and costs $25, an amazing price. Discount coupons are available online and you can get a $5 discount off this price. Majestic Foot Spa does take reservations and allows walk-ins as well.
For first time clients, a few suggestions are needed. You should wear comfortable clothing, think exercise wear and you will be good. It isn't recommended to eat a full meal prior to having a massage. Afterward, drink a lot of water to clear your system of any toxins that were released while being massaged. You may feel some discomfort or pain a few hours past the massage, which will subside the next day. Wearing make-up isn't advised since your face will be massaged around your temples and forehead. Making plans immediately following a massage might not be advisable since you will be sufficiently relaxed as well as having messy hair from the massage.
