Major League Baseball Ringtones

3 Sites that Offer Downloads for Your Cell Phone

"Take me out to the Ball Game". Next to the National Anthem, it's probably one of the most well-known tunes in American music history. And like the "Star Spangled Banner", it is also sung wrong more times than it is right!

For those of us who live for the Major League Baseball season to start every spring, we look for ways to keep those games alive throughout the long winter months between the last pitch of the World Series, and the first pitch of pre-season!

How? Ringtones baby!

The first site I recommend for Major League Baseball ringtones (as well as some pretty cool wallpaper!) is Myxer!

They have a variety of ringtones already registered to their site. But, if you have a song that you want as a ringtone and can't find it, you can upload that song to their homepage.

There's an easy to use slide player where you can listen to portions of your song and decide for yourself which piece you want as your ringtone. I might mention here that you must have web access on your phone to use Myxer, but if you do, the majority of the ringtones are absolutely free.

To get your newly created ringtone, register for your free account, then the website will send a text message to your phone with the link to download the ringtone. You simply click on the link, and follow the simple instructions to start the download, and then sit back and enjoy your new ringtones.

Some of my favorite MLB tones already on Myxer include ESPN's "Baseball Tonight", "The Red Sox Song", "Load up the Bases" and of course: Harey Carey's version of "Take me out to the Ball Game!"

My second favorite site would have to be the Major League Baseball site itself. Click on your favorite team's logo and the hotlink carries you to a list of everything MLB offers for you, their #1 fan! I, being a Texas Fan, clicked on the Big "T" logo and was immediately taken to the Rangers homepage.

Most of the ringtones on the site are all classic moments in MLB history and include "Another Hamilton Homer" (Texas Rangers), "McGwire hits #62" (St. Louis), "Sox win 2005 World Series" (Chicago). But there are some others as well. "Feel the Heat" (Tampa Bay), "New Pirates Generation" (Pittsburgh) and "It's Tribe Time" (Cleveland)

Each ringtone is $2.49 plus tax and any applicable text messaging fees that your carrier may charge you.

The third site with a number of MLB ringtones is Audiosparx. Doing a search for baseball brings up a number ringtones, including "Charge" played on the organ which is sure to make those around you stand up and take notice when your phone rings in the middle of a staff meeting!

To gain access to this site, you have several choices.

You can pay to download each ringtone you want. After spending quite awhile browsing the site, it seems that all of the ringtones range in price from $2 to $5. If the only one you want is Atlanta's Tomahawk Chop (which is available for download) then this is probably the way you want to go.

But with over 210,000 different ringtones to choose from, you might consider a monthly download subscription, which gives you rights to unlimited ringtones, sound effects, TV theme songs and movie themes. Starting at just $9.95, it certainly wouldn't take many downloads to make it worth your while.

Audiosparx also has a download subscription which allows you to access their complete inventory to download premium music, graphics, and loops as well as the material available with the ringtone subscription. They can be used in personal or business productions and presentations.

However, one thing to note is that premium music downloads may still require a per-downloadd contract price not included in the $39.95 per month subscription service.

Spring is almost here. Get ready for baseball season to get into full swing by downloading your favorite ringtones to your phone. Break out the grill, pick up some hot dogs, peanuts and cracker jacks, and you're ready to cheer on your favorite team!
