How to add a music player to your blogger blog:
1. You must first create a music player. Registering for a playlist.com account is free. To do so you will need to register for an account with playlist.com. Registering and creating an account is very simple, easy and fast. Do not worry playlist.com is not a gimmick; they will not send you tons of junk email. The site is also easy to use. After you have an account with playlist.com you can add up to 99 songs to each player you create on your account. Just search through their online database of music and add the songs you like to your playlist. You can even listen to the songs before placing them on your playlist to insure you have chosen the correct song.
2.After you have loaded your playlist with music you will need to click on the "my playlist" link at the top of the page. From the playlist page, click on your playlist title then click on "generate code". On the next page choose the type of blog you are posting your music player to. If you are using a blogger.com blog you may choose the last option (Get the code for any other social network, blog, or you own personal website). I have also found that if you would like to add a personalized picture to the background of your music player you can choose the first option (Get the code for Myspace). Choose your player settings you want on the next page then right click in the code box and copy your code.
3 Sign into your blogger.com account. Click on the "layout" link to the blog in which you would like to add your music player to.
4. Choose which section of your blog that you would like your music player to appear in. In that section click on the "add a gadget" link. Because of the size of the player, the easiest place to position your player is at the bottom of the blog. If you choose to place your player in a side gadget, you can change the size the of the player after you have pasted your code.
5. From the pop up page, scroll down to "HTML/JAVA" then click on the plus sign.
6. Type in a title for your music player, then right click in the blank box and click paste. The code you copied earlier from you playlist should now appear in the box in the form of a html code. If you have chosen to place your player in a side gadget, you can change the size the of the player after you have pasted your code. To change the size of your player, search in the html code box for the width and height. The numbers may be listed more than once in your code. The default width is set at 435px. The height's default is set at 270. Decrease these numbers down to 250px or possibly even 200px, depending on the size of your column. Try each setting one at a time to see which one is most appealing. Don't forget to click the "save" link when you are through with changing your settings if necessary.
Now your blog should have a personalized music player. To preview what your blog should look like here is a link to my newly created blog of wedding tips which includes the music player at the bottom of the page: Jana D's "I Do Help".
