Spending our anniversary in Las Vegas every December has become a tradition; all the lights and glitter fun to see; not to mention the slot machines. Las Vegas also home to the National Finals Rodeo. This "Super Bowl of Rodeos" makes reservations in advance a must for December visits to Las Vegas however; we have never had a difficult time getting a room and shows at reasonable rates.
This December in Las Vegas the Christmas decorations will, as every year be, large, amazing and bright. Enjoying the huge casino displays is one free event that most Las Vegas guests enjoy during the holidays. Also Las Vegas is well known for having free shows outside every casino after dark. These transform during the holidays into amazing Christmas events.
Tickets for the National Finals Rodeo are usually booked a year in advance so plan way ahead for the big event on your calendar. However, every year amazing shows along the strip can be seen for a reasonable price, such as musicals like; "Menopause The Musical", Barry Manilow, Dave Matthews Band with Tim Reynolds, Steel Panther, and many more. Visit the online Las Vegas Events Listing for more shows and prices.
Rooms in Las Vegas vary in price but visiting Price Line or Travelocity will afford travelers with a reasonable room rate. Listing a flight and room from arrival two days before Christmas, and returning two days after Christmas prices range from $432 to $800 per person. Hotels such as The Excalibur and Luxor located on the end of the strip are in the lower price range where as the Wynn and Mandalay Bay or the Bellagio are a bit higher
One item in Las Vegas that may set the bank account lower when returning home can be the meals. Meals in Las Vegas can be expensive; however, places such as "Noodles", "Rainforest Café", and the "Luxor Buffet" are places that make travelers take home tasteful memories.
Christmas shopping at Caesars Palace Forum Shops, Crystals, Grand Canal in the Venetian, or Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood to name a few; are great places to buy those last-minute gifts for loved ones. Most shops in Las Vegas will ship to any destination; many shops even offer shipping free of charge.
Las Vegas will be exciting, beautiful and bring the Christmas Holidays to another level of meaning for adults and children alike. Planning ahead is always a good step to take, however, it isn't necessary to plan 6 months out as a Las Vegas Christmas can be booked clear up until the first week in December and travelers may still get great deals.

Christmas in Las Vegas sounds like a great idea!
What an unusual idea! Not for me, but I can imagine many people woiuld like it.
My sister in law and her husband got married in Las Vegas in December, now all of us that went to the wedding go back there every 5 years in December. It is an awesome time to be there. Cheap prices, less crouds, and only a hint of chill in the air. You just made me long for Vegas. Although I was just there in July but only for a few hours, we stopped there on our way to California. We had the kids with us so no gambling. :( But the kids enjoyed seeing it.
