One of the most popular types of casual games to be found at the growing number of casual gaming and affiliate sites is the adventure game. These games tend to blend a variety of gameplay techniques from many other styles of game play, such as puzzles and hidden object, in order to offer a rounded experience. House, M.D. is one of those games. It successfully pulls a variety of puzzle and challenge types into a single title makes for a fun experience in diagnosing patients while maintaining a "House M.D." story and feel. The medical environment is portrayed as real as it can get for a casual game, and character likenesses, including Dr. House, are spot-on.
The game takes players on a journey where they must correctly diagnose a patient in each of the available 5 episodes, one-by-one. A correct diagnosis involves accomplishing a variety of tasks in the form of puzzles and challenges throughout. While all of the puzzles and challenges are themed to the world of medicine, many tasks will find the player involved with directly examining a patient or doing other medically related things, while others include basic mazes, object matching, traditional puzzles, and more. The game also allows for different player profiles, so each player may save their episodic progress.
The core gameplay isn't overly difficult and the game itself proves many hours or enjoyment. While some tasks can be obvious and easy, others require some thought. The title offers a particularly a great value, particularly when it is purchased at a casual games website membership price of under $10.
For gamers that are stuck during any point in the game, a walkthrough - from start to finish, is available at the BigFish Games game blog.
House, M.D. is available for the Windows based PC and although it has no rating, it contains drug references. Gameplay itself is suitable for gamers of all ages, however, many of the puzzles and tasks may be of a challenge to younger or inexperienced gamers.
