EASTER BOWL: First you will need to get a medium sized bowl. You could use a bright spring colored bowl or a bowl that has an Easter design on the outside of it. The bowl should be about 5 to 8 inches across the top. The bowl doesn't need to be more than 4 or 5 inches deep. You can determine the size on your own, depending on how much candy you need in your centerpiece. You will also need to get a small piece of round styrofoam to fit into the bottom of the bowl that can be glued into the bowl.
EASTER GRASS: Next get some Easter grass, the kind you use in your kids Easter candy baskets. Simply get enough grass to fill to the top of the bowl.
EASTER TREATS ON SKEWERS: Next, you will need to get some Easter candy to put on skewers. Cadbury chocolate eggs work well and so do Peeps marshmallow bunnies. You could also make skewers of five or six jelly beans on each, with all different colors to make it bright and festive. Use any other candy that your kids like as well to fill the skewers with Easter candy.
PREPARE YOUR EASTER CENTERPIECE: Once you have all of your supplies you can put your centerpiece together. You will simply need to glue your styrofoam piece to the bottom of your Easter bowl, so that you can stick the skewers in it. Then you will need to place the grass over the styrofoam to cover it up and to make the bowl look festive. Then you will need to place your Easter candy on your skewers. Place just one Peep on each skewer and one Cadbury egg on each skewer. Place several jelly beans on each skewer and so on. Once your Easter candy skewers are done you can place them into the styrofoam all around. You can cut the skewers down, if you wish to make it look like the bunnies, eggs, and jelly beans are sitting right on the grass. Put the centerpiece together right before it is time to serve it so that the chocolate doesn't melt too much. Enjoy!
