By getting rid of things you don't need you simplify you life. Making room for things you really need and giving you more storage. Lets face it we all have thing we keep that we really don't need. You know what I'm talking about the jeans you know someday you will ware again but never do. Or the toys your kids say they gotta keep but never play with. The hardest part is letting go. But think of it this way there are people who could use it more then you. And if you aren't using it they why keep it. Get your kids involved Tell them that the toys would really make some other kid happy who don't have as much as them. IT not only de-clutters your house but it also teaches your kids about CHARITY.
Paint Goes A Long Way
By simply changing the color of your walls you change the look of you home. And face it paint isn't that expensive. Paint can cost anywhere from $15 to $50 depending on the brand and type you decide to buy. On average I usually spend about $25 per gallon on my paint.
Rearrange your Furniture
By simply changing the layout of your furniture you can change the looks of a room. Also changing the furniture around it also forces you to clean places we usually over look. In turn giving your home a cleaner look and maximizing space. This is something that doesn't cost you anything just a little time.
Change Your Window Treatments
Buy new Curtains or window shades and you will give your room a new look. You will be surprised at how much this can change the look. You can save money by making new curtains your self. Window treatments can get pricey so if you can't sew and want to buy ready made curtains shop at discount store or garage sales. Or here is a trick I use just using fabric or bed sheets and rubber bands. Take the raw ends of the fabric and fold the ends in by about an inch and band it together with the rubber bands. Next use another rubber band to attach it to the curtain rod. on each end and in the middle. Then Just work with the fabric until you get a look you like.
Tired of the Sofa
Try this. Buy sofa covers this changes the look with out having to buy new. If you can't find a cover you like then find it in the fabric isle. A few yards of fabric and sticky back hook and loop tape works wonders.
New Flooring
Here is a money saving trick that you can use to change the look of your floors. Buy small pieces of carpet and duct tape the pieces together and you have a custom rug that instantly changes any floor. And most carpet stores will sell the carpet that is at the end of a roll at about $1 to $2 each piece. Or they will sell carpet samples that they no longer use.
Add Flowers
Whether they are live or artificial flowers add much needed life to any room. giving you a warm feeling to the space. And a welcoming feeling. You can never go wrong with flowers.
All these are guaranteed to save a few buck so the next time you want a change but don't have the money just take my advice and you will be able to have the changes you want with out spending a fortune.
