Earthwatch has helped make a difference in the world for nearly 40 years. Through the work of environmental professionals paired with volunteers, Earthwatch works to prevent climate change, create more sustainable resource management and improve the health of our oceans. As an Earthwatch volunteer, you can work with leading scientist to make a powerful impact on the environment.

Numerous Earthwatch Volunteer Vacation Opportunities are Available

Volunteer vacations are open to adults from all walks of life. Earthwatch also dedicates a few expeditions to include teams of teenagers, 16 and 17 year olds. The teen programs feature expeditions across the world. Teen expeditions have offered teens an opportunity to capture data on species and ecosystems, learn from leading scientists, enhance skills through hands-on activities, and gain experiences that impact their lives forever and help them stand out on college applications and resumes.

As a volunteer a minimum contribution is required with a value depending upon the expedition. The donation made to participate is tax-deductable and helps support the research and field equipment needs as well as on-site transportation costs.

Volunteers can choose to participate in a vacation that helps combat climate change by helping with the Tidal Forests of Kenya, Mammals of Nova Scotia, Climate Change at the Edge of the Arctic, Whales of British Columbia.

Another volunteer vacation opportunity with Earthwatch is to help improve the health of our oceans by working with marine research teams in the Coral Reefs of Thailand, participating in Bahamian Reef Survey or helping in the Coral and Coastal Ecology of Seychelles. By participating in one of these environmental vacations you will be working to help restore damaged coastal regions or reduce our impact on dolphins, whales, turtles and coral reefs.

Help ensure a sustainable future by participating in a volunteer vacation focused on developing sustainable cultures. In these life-changing experiences, volunteers are able to work with communities in Africa, Fiji, Spain, Italy and other global locations to help them discover ways to protect natural and cultural resources.

Volunteers can join leading researchers on an expedition focused on sustainable resource management. Volunteers can participate in research to help preserve and manage natural resources in a sustainable manner. Resolve threats to indigenous species, habitats, water and soil to help preserve endangered species from across the globe. Possible expeditions include saving the rhinos in Kenya, protecting the Tarangire migration, saving the wildlife in New York City and working to preserve Puerto Rico's Rainforest.

Volunteer vacation opportunities are available throughout the year and can be found on the Earthwatch web site. Expeditions take place across the globe, from North America to Trinidad, volunteers can find a vacation to participate in and help change the world for the better in the process.
