Make Earth Day a Family Project

S. Morris
Our Earth needs our help! Some of us feel we do not need to care for the planet, that provides so much for us. I feel that helping our children understand the importance of the earth, at the beginning, is the key to the future. A good idea for all is to make Earth Day a very important day! These are a few ways to involve all members of the family. Also, ways to help show the importance together.

Plant Something

Have everyone plant a tree in the yard or any kind of plant. A good way to help or Earth and a good way to brighten up the yard!

Support A Rain forest

Help the trees and animals of the Earth! Find an organization on line that you can donate money or one you can have a tree planted in your name.

Pick Up Garbage

Take your family, even relatives, around the neighborhood or to local parks. Bring trash bags, gloves, and clean up the trash off the streets and sidewalks.

Start A Compost Pile

Starting a compost pile is a good way to get the kid's started on organic gardening. They may enjoy this. While your working on it, talk to them about the importance of what you are doing together.

Make A Bird Feeder

The Earth has many creatures on it.. All ones we should care for and try to protect. Bird's are animals that are just about everywhere. So we will have the kid's join in and help make birdhouses. A fun way for all to help and enjoy Earth Day!

Take A Nature Walk

As a family go for a walk. Talk about trees, animals, plants, etc. Bring a wildlife book. Have them identify with you, the amazing varieties of plants and animals. Also discuss the important things each one does for our earth. A good way understand the many wonderful reasons to keep the Earth clean and protected.

All are good ways to help the Earth on Earth Day, as a family. See if you can find more ways you and your family contribute! Stay Green! Always be sure to recycle!
