Make Easy and Inexpensive Ham with Cherry Sauce
A Delicious Meal for Easter or Other Special Occasions
1 1/2 pound canned ham
1 can (1 pound 5 ounces) cherry pie filling
1 teaspoon cut-up crystallized ginger
In a large skillet on top of your stove, heat until bubbly the can of cherry pie filling and the cut-up teaspoon of crystallized ginger, stirring frequently.
Cut the 1 1/2 pound ham in half length-wise; place in skillet. Spoon pie filling mixture over the ham
Cover; simmer gently for 30 minutes, basting occasionally.
To serve; spoon cherry sauce over the ham. Makes 4 to 5 servings.
This goes really well with hot fluffy rice and cooked, drained, green beans.
Keep a canned ham and a can of cherry pie filling on hand in your kitchen cupboard and you'll always have the makings for a quick, delicious, and very inexpensive meal.
