1) Consignment Shops
Consignment stores are generally the means of selling something that requires the least amount of effort by the seller. Additionally, depending on the item consignment shops usually give the largest return on a persons possessions. It is important to remember that not everything that a person takes into a consignment shop the shop will be willing to accept and sell. A person should also consider what the shop specializes in and what the store sells a lot of, when deciding what items to take to the shop. Also a person should feel free to have items at a couple of consignment shops at any given time.
2) Online Purchasing Agents
There are several sites online that purchase used cell phones, CDs and books. These sites generally pay the shipping for items that a person sends to these purchasing agents. They usually only accept certain items at a given time. To find a site that accepts and pays for these types of used goods, simply search online. It is also a very good idea to look the site a person finds up on the Better Business Bureau site to make sure that a person does not get taken advantage off.
3) Online Sales Outlets
Another way to sell items that a person no longer wants or has a need for is to list the items on online sales outlets. Whether it is an online auction site like ebay.com or a simple resale site such as amazon.com. These site allow a person to sell their own items online with only small fees related to the sale of the items. The only negative to such sites is that they require the seller to constantly be selling, shipping and packaging items. Sometimes the person's items do not sell or it takes an extended period of time to sell. If using one of these sales outlets be sure and make accurate estimates about the cost of shipping a person's items, because otherwise a seller may not make any money by the time they pay to ship the item that they sell.
4) Garage Sales
A person can have their own garage sale or many different organization host garage sales where a person simple pays $5 to $20 to rent a table at the event. Garage sales are a very simple and traditional way for a person to make a little extra cash and get rid of their unwanted possessions.
