Many parents are choosing face painting over

But, many face paints are laden with metals, such as nickel and other potentially harmful ingredients in traditional Halloween face paint. A good way to eliminate spreading paint that might possibly be harmful to sensitive skin is by making face paint with food-based ingredients. Still, some foods can cause allergies to some kids, so always test your concoctions on skin before applying to the facial skin. Another concern is that some foods may stain the skin or costume material.

Natural Food Coloring Base for Face Painting:

Natural food coloring can be purchased at health foods stores, and is typically made from spices. Never use convential food coloring because it may contain chemical ingredients, and most definitely will stain the skin!

Halloween masks. Painting your little goblin or ghost is not difficult and allows your trick or treater to clearly see where they're walking. Face paint is also great while playing Halloween games at parties without wearing a cumbersome mask. Of course, the best part is that face paint lets your little one enjoy treats and beverages without having to remove a mask.face paints need to begin with a base of safe, unscented lotion OR cocoa butter (also available at health food stores). Another way to make a safe base is to combine 2 tablespoons corn starch and 1 tablespoon solid cooking shortening (such as Crisco). Fluoride-free toothpaste is also safe, but never use mint flavored toothpaste because it can make the skin tingly. Halloween face paint colors and shades is easy and fun!
