Are you having some guests over for Valentine's day or maybe just a small romantic dinner with your special someone. Here is how you can make a beautiful floating rose heart centerpiece for Valentine's day that is festive and will impress your guests. Your guests will not soon forget this Valentine's day centerpiece and will be very impressed with your craftiness. This is an especially good idea for a man who is trying to romance his girl this Valentine's day. The dinner says a lot, but so does the romantic decor.

SUPPLIES NEEDED: You will simple need a few supplies to make this festive and romantic centerpiece for Valentine's day. You will need a heart shaped piece of styrofoam that you can find at any craft store and most retail stores. Next you will need to buy some roses in a variety of colors. You can use fake roses or you could use real roses. The real roses will last a few days since there is water in this centerpiece as well. Next you will need a bowl that is large enough for the styrofoam heart to fit inside of. You could also get a floating candle to place in the center of the floating heart if you would like.

MAKE THE FLOATING ROSE HEART CENTERPIECE: Once you have all of the supplies you need you can start making your floating rose heart centerpiece. First, cut the rose stems at an angle, so that they will be able to get more water. Cut them long enough to pass through the styrofoam heart and reach the water. Leaving about a 4 inch stem should be sufficient. Next, once you have the stems all cut, you can start arranging the roses in the styrofoam heart. Simply poke the stems through the styrofoam heart and push them all the way down until the rose is setting right on the styrofoam. Keep doing this process until the styrofoam heart is full and there is no white styrofoam showing through the flowers. Vary the colors of the roses to make it look pretty.

Once your flowers are in your styrofoam, you can add water to your centerpiece's bowl. You only need to fill the bowl about half to three quarters full. Then you can place your styrofoam rose arrangement in the bowl of water. At this time you can also place your floating Valentine candle in the center if you choose to use one. Your beautiful and festive heart rose centerpiece is ready to be displayed for Valentine's day.
