An Article Writer's Bio: Do you plan to write articles with the intent of luring those who read them to your web site or blog? Many web sites that accept article submissions either provide a link to your author's profile in your articles that readers can click to learn more about you or they allow you to write information in your author's resource box that will appear as your bio at the end of your articles.
It is up to you to take advantage of this with a good short description of your online business that is written in third-person form. For example, you could write, "John Doe owns John Doe Deliveries, an enterprise that delivers household goods to consumers. To get the best items for your home through John Doe Deliveries, click the following link."
A Book Writer's Bio: Do you want to sell a book through a traditional publishing company or do it on your own? No matter which route you take, it is important to make a good first impression at the beginning of the book by briefly telling the readers why they should buy your book. For example, you can say, "John Doe has taught himself how to paint homes through years of trial and error. He has used this experience to write a great book that helps others master the art of painting."
Attending a Professional Function: Are you interested in going to seminars and other events that pertain to the industry you are most interested in breaking into? If so, you just need to be yourself while helping others learn something important about you. When it is time to speak for the first time, you should simply say your name and what you have recently done in your field. After you get a conversation going, you should give out your business card.
Doing a Video: Do you want to shoot a commercial or personal video of yourself? If so, you should simply state who you are, what you do and what makes you stand out from your competition.
Responding to a Help Wanted Ad: Are you applying for a job? In addition to having a great resume, you need a great cover letter. A good introduction can say, "I am writing in regard to the ad you posted for a marketing position. My background includes three years of marketing experience. A copy of my resume has been enclosed. Please contact me for an interview at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your time and consideration."
Follow these examples to introduce yourself professionally in a brief bio!
