If you are getting married this year the budget may be spread thin. Decorating is one of the things that can become the most expensive for a wedding if you let it. Take control of the budget with this simple balloon centerpiece for your wedding reception tables and you will be on your way to a budget friendly wedding, while still looking fabulous. Follow these steps to make this balloon centerpiece.

THINGS YOU WILL NEED:

First you will need balloons that match your wedding colors. Usually using two colors of balloons is just enough, not too much and not too little. You will also need a helium tank to fill the balloons with. Next, you will need some gift bags, you could even get these at the dollar store. You will need one for each centerpiece that you want to create.

Next, you will need some marbles or some type of weight to put in the bottom of the bags to hold them down. You will also need ribbon to match your balloons, get extra, you will need it for more than just tying on the balloons.

MAKE YOUR BALLOON CENTERPIECES:

To make your balloon centerpieces, first simply place your weights in the bottoms of all of your gift bags. The bags should be white or match the colors of the wedding. You could even use some white balloons and tie them to colored bags to match your wedding colors.

Next, start filling up the balloons with helium. You will want to do this on the day of the reception, just a few hours before guests arrive, otherwise the balloons will fall. Then simply tie a ribbon onto each balloon and tie 4 or 5 balloons to each gift bag, depending on how big your bags are. If your bags are small, then you may only want to tie 2 or 3 balloons to each bag.

Finally, cut about 5 to 7 strands of ribbon, about 12 to 14 inches long and hold them in the center. Take scissors and run them down each piece of ribbon to make them curl. Now you have a lovely boquet of curling ribbon that you can attach to the handles of the gift bags so that the ribbons look as though they are cascading down the sides of the gift bags, this adds a nice elegant touch to make these centerpieces look a little more classy. Simple and cheap!
