READY SET INVITATIONS: YOU WILL NEED:
1 Sheet of poster board (color of your choice)
scissors/ safety scissors
1 black permanent marker
1 Large sized star template
envelopes (make sure they fit your star)
embellishments/ colored markers
Start by tracing your star template onto the poster board (you should at least be able to get 8 or more). Cut them out being careful to follow your lines. Get your birthday girl involved by letting her decorate and embellish them. I found that crayon's do not work well on poster board, and is hard to write over with marker. Try letting her use a little glitter and colored marker's. Once that is done your ready to fill them out being sure to use that black permanent marker. Don't know what to say? I can help.
Your invited to walk the red carpet Dressed as your favorite movie character and join the celebration of Hannah (your child's name) and her 10th (age) birthday.

Please RSVP by March 1, 2007(date) by calling 412-8958 (your phone#)
Now put them in the envelopes and send them on there way!
NEXT IS THE REAL FUN PART! PARTY DECORATIONS AND FAVORS!
YOU WILL NEED:
2 sheets of white poster board
Scissors/ safety scissors
1 black permanent marker
1 Large star template
embellishments/ colored markers
For the decorations stay with the theme of the red carpet. Start with again with poster board stars cut out, decorated and embellished by you and your child. Hang them from the ceiling by using a hole punch, or tape them to the wall and make them extra glam and Hollywood by using lots of sparkly glitter. Another inexpensive way to decorate your stars is with old nail polish. Always supervise your child if you decide to go this route. Be sure to decorate your porch and front door as well. This helps the guests find there way.
FOR THE RED CARPET YOU WILL NEED:
Large red felt squares (quantity you need depends on the run of your walk way)
Make the red carpet out of large red felt squares that can be purchased at any craft supply store for very little money. Be sure to tape the felt squares down, taping them will not damage floors. Start at the door way and lead them into the party room.
Now that decorations are done what arbout those party favors? We have to keep these favors inexpensive and gender friendly. Try brown paper lunch bags again decorated by you and your child. You cant go wrong with candy, and try adding a pair of inexpensive sun glasses as they can wear them Hollywood style for the red carpet event.
So now that this is all done her a few more fun tips to incorporate into your child's birthday affair.
Have you child greet her guests on the red carpet at the door. Let her hold some small blank stars that have been hole punched and threaded with yarn large enough to wear as a necklace and a marker . As her guests arrive she shall write the movie character name on the star and hang it around her guests neck. In the middle of the party these stars shall be collected from her guests and placed in a bag, have your child shake the bag, reach in and pick a star, whom evers name is called shall win the Oscar prize. Keeping in mind it has to be gender friendly.
