Make Menus4Moms Work for You

Great Tips for Menus4Moms Users

Menus4Moms is a menu plan website that sends out weekly menus to your inbox. It has five dinner plans to feed your hungry family. But sometimes issues arise with the menu. These tips will help make Menus4Moms work successfully for you by helping you overcome these five common problems.

Topics covered are allergies, food from the freezer you don't have, a dish you don't like, and small looking meals.

"We have Allergies to the food on the menu. What do I do?"

I am quite familiar with this problem since my family has a lot of food allergies. I browse the Menus4Moms plan and search for any problems we may have, and then substitute the food.

If you need help finding a substitute food or spice, you can search The Cook's Thesaurusor Emergency Food Substitutes for ideas.

"The Menu4Moms meal calls for something from the freezer or last week's leftover food. I just started so I don't have it. What do I do?"

Not to panic! Simply look over the Menus4Moms daily recipes below the menu and see what is needed "from the freezer". Add it to your list. If it's onions and peppers, I bought a double supply then chopped and froze them so I could have extras while I got into the swing of things.

"I Don't like one of the dishes!"

There are two ways I handle this problem.

1) I pick a dish that I like from that week and double it. That way I have a meal in the freezer or fridge ready to go! And I don't have to endure a dish I don't like.

2) I have about 10 easy dishes that I can make as a back up meal just in case of times like this. Spaghetti and meatballs is one of them. Pick five to ten easy meals to make (hamburger helper, hotdogs, taco night, etc) and have them saved somewhere for ideas when you want to make something else instead.

If it's a vegetable dish, just switch to your favorite vegetable instead.

The meal looks really small. I'll starve!"

Feel free to add something to your meal. One meal I remember was a "baked potato bar" and fruit salad. Instead we had chicken, potato bar and fruit salad. One added item can help round out your meal and make you feel satisfied when you are done!

Oh they are pretty awesome. Some weeks I just tweak it a little more. This weeks menu looks pretty good though! And I love that they are free.
