Make Money Doing What You Love

Everyone wants to strike it rich and a lot of people would not mind becoming a self-made millionaire. While this is a great idea, there are only a few industries available where people can start from nothing and become a millionaire through mere perseverance and skills. What makes this even harder is the fact that most jobs require a high level of education, not to mention years spent in acquiring that education. Some people, however, can get by with a simple bachelor's degree. Education is important for most people, but if you wish to sell custom-made t-shirts, it is not really a necessity. Selling t-shirts can lead to a profit of hundreds of thousands of dollars annually, but it is extremely important to be constantly motivated, hard-working, and personable, in order to do so.

My t-shirt selling business started out as a mere past-time job to supplement my dismal income and was an idea of a good friend. All that was needed was a respectable amount of money. And as I was living from paycheck to paycheck, I used this money to purchase business cards and register a company name. Then, I sat down and started contacting local businesses from the yellow pages, a few of which became my first customers, and many of which I still do business with today.

Since I had a base of customers, I was in dire need of suppliers and textile manufacturers, which actually wasn't difficult. Since they are in business to sell their clothing, they tend to produce products of great quality. From there, all I needed was a contract screen printer that could print what I needed.

In a nutshell, that was how my business began. I bought shirts and paid a contract printer to take care of the screen printing, and then I sold the products to customers. Not only was a bringing sellers and buyers together, but I was also adding value to the shirts. During this time, I made more money that I thought was possible a few years earlier. Very little cash was needed since I didn't really need to purchase anything until my customers guaranteed they would buy the custom t-shirts. Payments by credit card were even better since it was a sure-fire guarantee that I had the money. There were hardly any risks and the potential for benefits was incredible.

Soon enough, my company made enough money and was keeping me occupied enough that I could leave my job as a trader to focus on the shirts full-time. As soon as the finances could take it, I even hired a secretary, which gave me enough free time to find and meet my customers. I was earning enough to grow the business without having to worry about the finances or to risk anything I could not afford to lose.

More than a decade later, I expanded my business by moving into screen printing on my own. I now own screen printing equipment, along with a full-time staff that does the contract printing for others, which I used to have done for myself. I am even setting up more companies to do what I began to do. These companies are then sold to other people with the same ambition to work as their screen printer. While they go and seek their own customers, I come to offer contract screen printing, as well as advice. I then set up websites for the new companies that can offer pricing and quotes within it. The screen printing is done at special prices due to my special relationship with the companies, and the websites allow them to choose the price of which they wish to sell their shirts. This relationship is beneficial to all since there eliminates the need to go through hoops finding the printer, setting up the website and the company, and generating its business.

Now that I have shown you how I have evolved, you have an idea of how my business has grown to become so steady. I make enough money to live in comfort, pay for my children's college tuitions, and even save for retirement. The best part is, I enjoy everything about what I do. For the past decade, I can say that I have woken up and known that I am my own boss, my destiny is in my own hands, and I do not have to answer to anyone. Getting into this business was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Think about this the next time you get up for work. Maybe you'll get the guts to take the leap, as well.
