To make money with Google AdSense, you have to be smart about your ad placement, ad size, the topic of your website and the Google AdSense guidelines. While there can be volumes and volumes written about how to make money with Google AdSense, this will give you a short and comprehensive overview of the governing processes behind making money online.

When you start out, you want to get the largest ad size you can. Larger ads pay out more. This increases the AdSense ad visibility so readers. It is also imperative that when asked if you want text or image ads, choose either text only, or text and image. Image ads by themselves tend to pay out less, but more than that have lower click-through rates.

Google AdSense also allows you to set the color of your ad box background and link color. For the best click-through rate, set both the background and link color to the same as your website. Using contrasting colors will make the AdSense box float awkwardly on your page.

Lastly, guidelines. The AdSense guidelines are always changing, so be sure to keep checking them out. The main things you should watch out for (beyond having ads near images and not using more than three ads boxes per page) is your topic. If you are making, or have, a website about porn, racism (advocating racism), hateful and bigoted messages or anything obscene, Google will ban your website from its AdSense program.

Also be sure to NEVER click your own ads. This is a death sentence that will get you banned, and you may even have to pay back illegal earnings and pay fees.
