Make Money with T-Shirt Designs

Selling t-shirts designs is a competitive market on the internet. The fact is no matter what you heard about the guy who threw a simple design on some print to order website and made two thousand dollars overnight. This rarely ever happens, like most business's you are forced to hit the grindstone and work for your riches.

It's impossible to keep your eyes from following web browsers if you're a T-shirt designer. The fact is that the internet represents many t-shirt markets that haven't even been tapped as of yet. Especially compared to a traditional business model, the internet allows you to consolidate the wholesale, retailer, and manufacturer whenever you cut out one of these middle men it becomes easier to make higher profits by reducing expenditures.

One of the easiest ways to make money with t-shirt designs online is by joining one of these print to order websites. Print to order websites work by you, the designer, uploading a design, they give you a free store where you can advertise your wares and you get a certain percentage of each sale, around three dollars usually. The whole process takes some thirty seconds, from having a design in Photoshop to selling it on the web. This is a great option if you can drive traffic to a design to test its effectiveness.

The problem with print to order t-shirt design shops is twofold. 1) You will not be able to monitor the quality of your product. For instance, allot of people have reported problems with getting their designs askew on the shirt when they do a test order. Obviously monitoring quality is one of the most important aspects of owning a successful business.2) you get a large amount of your profits taken by the third party. Though cheaper in the long run than buying your own press and thousands of shirts if you happen to go under, you still will be missing out on some 4 dollars a sale that would be going directly into your bottom line.

Once you set up shop at a print to order shop your next duty is to try to drive as much high quality traffic to it as you can. Make a twitter account and follow people interested in fashion. They will follow you back, its common courtesy. Next post images of your new design and tweet them. This will get the ball rolling and encourage you to stay up to date on new designs.
