Make the Most of Your Weekend Vacation with the Girls - In Vegas!

Kristy Good
A few years ago my best friend invited me to meet her and two of her girlfriends in Las Vegas--for just one weekend! We all lived in different parts of the country so we were traveling individually and meeting up in Sin City. We were splitting the cost of one room at New York New York Hotel and Casino, a luxe but affordable hotel on the strip. This meant that our room cost each of the four of us next to nothing for an entire weekend stay!

The first floor of the New York New York is a sight itself, with an area that is made to resemble the streets of New York City. There are various restaurants serving standard New York-style foods, and you can walk from one to the next as if you were walking through a New York neighborhood. Despite having an endless number of food choices literally steps from our hotel room, quite a few of our meals consisted of items off the room service menu. We ordered so much food to our room that the room service bill was probably the most expensive thing that we paid for while in Vegas. However, I did choose the Jager Bomb as my drink of choice the first night we went out, which ended up costing me $80 before tip for just four tiny drinks. I didn't think about asking how much they cost until I had already knocked back four of them!

We visited some of the well-known clubs along the strip, with our decisions on where to go based in part on which places the promoters said they could get us into. Promoters are out all over town offering to get you to the front of the line or to give you a discount on cover charges. In addition to Pure, which is the club inside of Caesars Palace and well-known for having regularly played host to the late DJ AM, we spent some time at the Palms Casino. The Palms is home to a host of popular clubs which we gained access to through one of the aforementioned promoters. For one price we were granted admission to Rain, Moon nightclub, and most memorably, the Playboy Club.

We were not originally planning to go to the Playboy Club, so when we ended up there it was a little surreal! The Palms location of the club had very recently opened and there was a lot of excitement surrounding it. Seeing the Bunnies making their rounds, pouring drinks and posing for pictures would not have seemed exciting before that night, but all four of us left Vegas eager to tell everyone stories of our evening at the Playboy Club.

If I were given the opportunity to visit Las Vegas again with the ladies, I would suggest that we stay for longer than one weekend. Two days is not nearly enough to see and do even the bare minimum of things that one should see and do in Vegas. Not to mention there were plenty of things geared towards women that we never saw, like endless stores for shopping! If you ever have the chance to spend a ladies' vacation in Vegas, allow yourself plenty of time for shopping and spa trips and sightseeing in general, bring plenty of money, and go with a plan of what you want to see. With these tips in mind, you will have the best time that you've ever had while traveling with friends!
