Make Your Movie Night Affordable and Fun

Ambrosia Jefferson
Who says movie nights have to be expensive? I know what your thinking when you read that you are of course thinking that movie nights are always expensive, with movies costing $10 or more per ticket and than of course the cost of popcorn, soda and other treats from the concessions stand. However your movie nights do not have to cost you so much money for two people or even for the family, you as the person seeking the entertainment do have choices.

If you are set on seeing a new release your best, option is to go during the week. Many theatres in an effort to get people to come more often and more during the week have lowered their prices during the weekday not only during the day but at night as well. The AMC in Rosedale Minnesota has a special from Monday- Thursday that your movie will cost you $5 per ticket. That is half off or more than half depending on when you go per ticket, not a bad savings. There are also deals to be had at the concessions stand during these times, just keep a look out for them. Some items will be on special or certain sizes. Do not be shy and ask the person in the concessions area to explain all their specials to you, I guarantee you there is always something going on that will save you money. Another great idea is that if your local theatre has a special rewards program is to join it. You will get special coupons, discounts and days when you can get free goodies.

To save even more money on your movie nights, stay home. You can make a perfectly great experience by getting your own movie. You can sign up for netflix or use an on demand cable service option with your movie you can even now rent movies at rental boxes at some stores there are choices a plenty to save some money. From there all you need to do is pick up some soda and some microwave popcorn, or do some of your own air popping corn. If you want something a little more exotic try some of the gourmet flavorings you can find for your popcorn at the local grocery store. There is no reason that those on a budget cannot have some fun and see the latest movies. All you have to do is be creative and do a little bit of looking to find something that will fit within your affordability range.
