If you're pregnant and work in an office, you'll want to make sure your office comfortable, but not so much that you fall asleep. You'll want room to stretch those ligaments, and a supportive environment for those aches and pains. Incorporate some items and routines into your office space in order to achieve this.

Every 45 minutes or so of sitting should be alternated with light stretching at your desk for 5min. Babyfit.com has some great fitness tips for pregnant moms. You could take a stretching band with you to work since it might be more difficult now to reach body parts like your feet.

Do you know what a birthing ball is? It's the same ball referred to as a yoga ball. It's a big rubber ball filled with air used for various purposes that are all health related (and sometimes fun). Many people who work in offices pull out the yoga ball for an hour or two daily at work to replace their office chair. This helps strengthen the back muscles, giving a leaner posture and stronger core. As far as the purpose for you? It will stretch those ligaments preparing you for an easier delivery.

For those times you'll be sitting in a desk chair, try and invest in a nice chair if plan on remaining with the company for years to come. Invest in your back and purchase a nice rolling, comfortable chair for your office. If this is not available to you, consider buying seat cushions made especially for your back and bottom. This will help relieve some of the tension built up during pregnancy.

Aromatherapy can work wondering in relieving stress. The most common stress-relieving aromatherapy scent is lavender. If you like this scent, you can bring a twig of fresh lavender to your office, tie with a ribbon, and place it in a place you'll want to admire its beauty. Another way is to bring along lavender oil and place on your wrists or temples for a breath of relaxing air.

Pregnant women need adequate nutrition and water on a constant basis throughout the day. If there is not a refrigerator nearby, be sure to pack a small cooler with waters, string cheese, cut up fruits and veggies, and a container of wheat thins. Snack on this throughout the day to fight hunger and still get the nutrition you need in a healthy way.

A picture of the sonogram just might be the thing that will lift your spirits when you're feeling big and uncomfortable. Think about the amazing bond and love you will have for this child in a few short months (or weeks). You're doing all this for him or her. A picture of your family would also boost your spirits and keep you hanging on and working hard.

Straining your eyes to view the computer several hours a day can bring about headaches and tension in the neck. In order to avoid this, make sure your computer screen is at eye level and tilted in a way that is least strenuous on the eyes. Adjust the brightness and colors that is most beneficial to you. Don't forget to add a peaceful desktop background to enhance your good mood.

A good position to relieve stress in the lower back is to elevate your feet a little off the floor. Use a low footstool to rest your feet on throughout the day, especially when your lower back starts aching. For other aches and pains, take along a massage balm from Burt's Bees for pregnant women. Massage into body parts that begin to ache and feel pressure.

Make sure the ambiance of the room is comfortable as well. If possible, play with the lighting in your office, add some scented candles and play some soft music. Of course you don't want to feel so relaxed that you fall asleep as many pregnant women get tired more easily. So make sure its nothing that reminds you of bedtime, but rather of a soft and comfortable environment that is also energizing. Citrus is an energizing scent, so try that for your candle.

If you are finding that you are very sleepy, talk with your boss about possibly taking a 15min catnap daily. Take along a little pillow to rest your head on your desk and escape the world for a few minutes.
