Make Your Own 1920s Theme Wedding Favor

Create a Colorful and Useful Wedding Favor from Easy to Find Items from the Craft Store

Mary Martin
Making wedding favors for a 1920s themed wedding can be fun. The 1920s were a time when glamour and elegance graced every wedding aspect. I have designed a wedding favor that combines glamour and elegance along with usefulness. This wedding favor adds color to your table. The favor is accented with a fern frond, a peacock feather and a Green Cymbidium Orchid blossom. The amber glass votive cup may be used to hold nuts, candies, or other items.

This 1920s theme wedding favor can be assembled in less than thirty minutes. The items are readily available at your local craft store. The color of the votive cup may be changed from amber to another color or a clear glass votive cup. The approximate cost of each favor would be around five dollars.

Materials:

Signature Orchid Elegance stem
Ferns & Grasses, Boston Fern stem
Grande Impressions LTD, 24' peacock feather
Amber Glass Votive cup
Dragonfly Transfer sheet (optional)
Clear adhesive dots
Florist tape
Wire cutters
Scissors

Instructions:

1. Transfer a dragonfly to the votive cup following the package directions.

2. Cut a blossom from the orchid stem.

3. Cut a fern frond from the fern plant.

4. Cut a feather containing a peacock "eye" from the peacock feather.

5. Place the peacock feather on top of the fern frond and tape them together using a small strip of florist tape.

6. Place the orchid blossom on top of the taped items and arrange the items to your satisfaction. Tape the blossom stem to the fern and feather. Wrap the tape to the bottom of all stems and seal the tape.

7. Place the taped items behind the glass votive and identify several fern leaves that would be able to be used to hold the taped items to the votive.

8. Place adhesive dots on several of the identified fern leaves. Place the decoration behind the votive opposite the dragonfly decoration and adhere to the votive using the adhesive dots.

9. The favor is assembled and ready to be filled.

This 1920s theme wedding favor is a lovely accent. The favor is able to hold treats during the wedding dinner and will be useful to the guest later. The favor could be used later for holding business cards, a battery operated votive light, or to hold other small items in the home.
