Lavender. Lavender oil heals cuts, bruises, and burns. It also prevents insomnia, relieves stress, brings mental clarity, and promotes relaxation and sleep.
Peppermint. If you want to make your own aromatherapy kit, you need to include some Peppermint oil. Peppermint oil has a pleasant scent, and it relieves digestive problems and freshens breath, as well as promoting relaxation and revitalization of energy.
Geranium. Geranium oil has many pain-relieving properties, and therefore is a good oil for your aromatherapy kit.
Tea tree. Tea tree oil is great for respiratory ailments, including colds. Massaging some Tea Tree oil into the chest or burning it in an oil burner brings relief from cold and other respiratory symptoms. Especially in fall and winter, Tea Tree oil should definitely be included in your aromatherapy kit.
Tea Tree oil also heals cuts, bites, and stings. It's a natural antiseptic and is great for pimples as well. In addition, you can dilute some Tea Tree oil with water and use it as a mouth wash. But be sure not to swallow it, and do not give it to children!
Eucalyptus. This is another essential oil that helps heal colds. Many people like the scent better than Tea Tree oil. Eucalyptus oil clears the airways and helps prevent congestion.
Lemon. Lemon oil, or fresh lemons, mixed with honey is another cold remedy. However, you can also leave out the honey and just use the Lemon oil to clean with. Some dilute it with water, and others don't. But no matter which you choose, it's a cheaper and healthier alternative to traditional cleaning products. Best of all, Lemon oil won't hurt pets and children, if they happen to come in contact with it.
Orange. Orange oil is used in natural remedies for depression. But instead of paying for these remedies, which can be expensive, you can just burn some Orange essential oil in an oil burner and be feeling better soon, without any of the side effects of drugs and other remedies for depression.
There are other oils you might want to include in your aromatherapy kit, but they are much more expensive than these. You can get a small bottle of each of these, and it will cost less than $20 total. A one or two-ounce bottle will last a long time, especially if you dilute the oil before you use it.
Aromatherapy doesn't have to be done professionally. It also doesn't need to be expensive. You can enjoy its benefits any time, anywhere, when you make your own aromatherapy kit.
