First things first, you will need to get some candy bars so you know how big to make your wrappers. Look for candy bars like Hershey's bars where the outer wrapper can be removed and there is still a pretty silver or gold inside wrapper left on the bar. Carefully remove one of the outer wrappers and measure it so you know the size you will need to print your wrappers.
In your photo editing software, create a new document and set the print size to the size that you just measured. Now comes the fun part. Use your creativity and imagination to create a unique customized wrapper. You can add a photo of the baby, customize it with a name and date, or even create a unique shower invitation.
Keep in mind that you will want the majority of the design to print in the center of the paper since this is what will show on the top of the candy bar.
Once you have a design you like print it out to test it and make sure it looks OK when it is wrapped on the candy bar. You will most likely have to print it out on regular printer paper and then cut it down to size, although if you are lucky you can find paper to print on that is the exact size that you need.
Fold the wrapper around the candy bar with the ends overlapping slightly in the back. Use a glue stick to seal the ends of the wrapper together. Take a look at how the wrapper looks on the candy bar and make any necessary adjustments in your computer document, moving pictures or words around so they look good and show up on the front the candy bar. You may need to print several test sheets before you get the design down perfectly.
Once you have finalized the design, print out as many as you need and wrap up all the candy bars. If you have chosen to make candy bar invitations to the shower you can mail them if you would like, but it might be a better idea to hand deliver them since they could melt or get broken in the mail.
For plain old customized candy bars you can either hand them out when people arrive at the shower, put them out on the table or counter, or give them out as prizes for shower games. You may want to make a few extras in case any of your guests want to take a couple home with them.
