Make Your Own Babyfood at Home

Kasey Perry
It's not new news that healthy eating habits start early. "Success by six," the experts tell us. So it should come as no surprise that making babyfood at home will contribute to heathier eating habits later in life, particularly as toddlers and small children. Rich, flavorful purees are easier accomplished than you think!

When I first set out to make babyfood I was a little nervous. I was concerned that it would be difficult, and that I wouldn't know how to go about preparing certain foods. Through searching, I came across Wholesome Baby Food's website (www.wholesomebabyfood.com) and haven't looked back! This site has it all!

From recipes (convienently catagorized for veggies, fruits, meats, cereals, and even meals!) to tips for picky eaters, even a sample daily meal chart, I have never come to this site with a question that I didn't leave with answered. I thoroughly enjoy browsing the tip page, in particular, and have found lots of useful advice, particularly their "constipation information" page.

One section of special note is the allergy information section. The "Fobidden Baby Foods" page is particulary helpful, as it not only lists forbidden foods, but also explains why these foods should be postponed, and at what age it is appropriate to introduce these foods to your child. Every parent should read the information listed there, as it could potentially be life saving advice.

Also worth noting is the section explaining, step by step, exactly how it is one should go about storing babyfood. I, for one, was shocked to learn how easy it is to store and be well stocked with natural and perservative free babyfood at all times. From pureeing to freezing and thawing, this section answers every question and concern.

Finally, be sure the check out the "Why Make Homemade Baby Food For Your Baby?" article on the home page itself. If you were debating it before, I think the facts and reasons listed will definetly win you over and make you a "homemade babyfood mama" for sure!

From tips and tricks to recipes and advice, Wholesome Babyfood is the place to start for all of your babyfood making needs!
