Brown sugar is pretty neat - it's got lots of goodies that white can sugar doesn't have. It's also got some nice stuff that's great for your skin, like calcium and iron. Brown sugar's also got some vitamin B6, which is great for your skin and hair!
There's lots of ways to use common granulated brown sugar in your beauty and skincare routine, like adding it to your favorite facial moisturizer and cleanser to make a softening face scrub. Here I'll describe how to make a great brown sugar face mask right at home, using things you most likely already have in your kitchen and bathroom.
First off, you'll need some granulated brown sugar! Just about 2 tablespoons should be enough. You also need about four tablespoons of whole milk, and a couple drops of extra virgin olive oil. If you have problems with dry spots and patches under your makeup, try adding a couple drops of fresh raw honey to the mix as well!
Mix your ingredients in a small glass bowl with your fingertips, starting with the sugar and milk first. Slowly add the olive oil, just two or three drops will do. Make sure you mix this together as if you were massaging it into the glass bowl. This will achieve a soft smooth easy to apply mixture that you can easily rub onto your skin.
You also want to use your fingertips when applying this mask to your skin. The brown sugar in this mask will not only be helping to soften and moisturize your skin, but it's also exfoliating and helping to clear your pores of dirt! This mask is doubly effective because of the addition of whole milk and olive oil, two other ingredients that are excellent at bringing pure and natural moisture to your skin without adding any extra chemical nonsense.
Leave this mask on your face for about 5 or 6 minutes, and rinse very thoroughly in your sink basin or shower. You'll notice an immediate difference - your skin will be soft, smooth, and silky, with a natural radiant glow!
You can also try using this face mask as an entire body scrub - all you have to do is double up to make enough for your entire body. This can help your skin when the temperature is changing by adding much needed moisture to every part of your body. Good luck, have fun, and keep it natural.

Post a Commentthanks i am throwing a party and this is perfect we are in the middle of doing them right now awesome idea for who ever made this up my skin is so soft!!!
Thanks! I'm so glad people like sugar scrubs, they make your skin so soft and they're great at getting leftover makeup off my skin every time I use them. Brown sugar seems to be a better choice for sensitive skin, too.
Never thought of brown sugar as a mask/scrub. Good idea.
I've done sugar scrubs before...good article.
