Make Your Own Edward Cullen Costume

J. Darling
With the continuing popularity of the "Twilight" franchise of movies: "Twilight," "New Moon," "Eclipse," and "Breaking Dawn," it is no surprise that Edward Cullen is a popular costume for people looking to attend a Halloween or costume party. Luckily, these are two characters that you can easily make your own costumes for without having to spend a lot of money on pre-made store bought costumes.

Due to their inability to spend lots of time in the sun, the vampire's skin needs to be pale. To get the shimmery effect that the vampires in "Twilight" have when exposed to sunlight, dust an iridescent powder with just a hint of shimmer over your face and neck with a blush brush. Smudge just a tiny bit of brown kohl eyeliner along the lids of the eyes and use a little bit of berry lipstain on the lips for a "just bitten" look. A light pink or red eye shadow slightly applied in the corners of each eye will help make the pale vampiric look of Edward's face more believable. Edward's facial hair is limited to sideburns which are grown to earlobe length, and his hair has that messy "bed head" effect reminiscent of James Dean or Dylan from the old Beverly Hills 90210 days. To achieve this look, rub styling wax or pomade between your palms and then run it through the hair with an upward motion. Smooth the hair until your hair is perfectly messy or fashioned into a slight pompadour style. Edward's wardrobe is somewhat all-American, as if he just walked out of an American Eagle store, comfortable and clean-cut. There are a number of outfits you could wear, depending on what you already have in your closet or would like to purchase. One option is a grey V-neck t-shirt layered under a dark blue button down shirt, rolled up at the sleeves along with a pair of dark jeans. If the weather is colder, opt for a dark blue sweater and a gray flannel pea coat.

Spend the night brooding and looking pensive when not otherwise engaged in conversation to finish off your Edward Cullen impersonation!
