Make Your Own Magnets With Ceramic Tile and Rubber Stamps

Rebecca Bardelli

Making magnets from ceramic tile and rubber stamps is enjoyable and easy. Creating ceramic tile magnets makes for a great girls night craft. Creating magnets can also be a fun craft to do with children. Keep your magnetic masterpieces or give them as gifts.

Supplies:

  • Ceramic tiles (find them in the flooring section at a store such as Lowe's or Home Depot)
  • Magnetic sheets with removable adhesive (found at office supply stores)
  • Small rubber stamps of your choice
  • StazOn stamp pads in colors of your choice (found at craft stores)
  • Clear acrylic sealer (matte)
  • Scissors

Once you locate the ceramic tiles at your local home improvement store ask an employee to cut them into 2 by 2 inch squares.

Choose small rubber stamps at a craft store or online.

Directions:

  1. Now that you have all your supplies your ready to create beautiful magnets. Take your square ceramic tiles and use rubber stamps with StazOn ink to create designs of your choice. Small flowers, foliage and words are good choices for magnets.
  2. After stamping the ceramic tiles, apply a coat of clear acrylic sealer outside in a well ventilated area. Allow tiles to air dry.
  3. Once the tiles are dry take the magnets sheets and cut square pieces out for the back of each tile. Be sure to be generous with the size of the magnets as tile is heavy. Cut the magnets just a little smaller than the tiles.
  4. Apply magnets to the back of the tiles.

Next, go place your magnets on your refrigerator or wrap them as gifts. Have fun crafting and stamping!
