Make Your Own "Pulp Fiction" Costume Ideas

Released in 1994, Quentin Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction" has become somewhat of a cult classic. The film is true to Tarantino's style: a wild and crazy ride as the plot follows two hitmen trying to find their mafia boss's stolen suitcase and "take care" of his wife. John Travolta stars at hitman Vincent Vega and his partner Jules Winnfield is played by Samuel L. Jackson. Uma Thurman has the role of Mia Wallace, the wife of the mob boss. For people looking to make their own Halloween costume or a costume for a theme party, there are several easy costumes from "Pulp Fiction" that can be recreated. Have even more fun by getting a few friends together and going as various characters from the film.

Make Your Own Mia Wallace Costume
Having the right hair is essential for a Mia Wallace costume. She wore a black shoulder-length bob with bangs. This should be easy if you have that hairstyle, but there are wigs available that also fit the bill. You'll need a long-sleeved white button down shirt, black capri pants, and black or silver flats. Use neutral eyeshadow and bold red lips. If you want to go for a post-overdose look, tousle your hair a little, have some fake blood under your nose, and attach a prop syringe to your chest, making it look like the needle is stuck inside you. These can be found at some specialty Halloween stores.

Make Your Own Pulp Fiction Costumes: Jules and Vincent
For either of these characters you'll need a crisp black jacket and pants, a white shirt, and a black tie. To complete your Jules Winnfield costume, look for a jheri curl wig or a Michael Jackson "Thriller" styled wig to trim down. If you don't have a lot of facial hair, you'll need to find costume sideburns, mustache, and goatee similar to the facial hair Samuel L. Jackson's character wore. John Travolta's character, Vincent Vega, had shoulder length hair that was all brushed back. If you don't have long hair, you can find a wig to fit that description or purchase a longer wig and cut it the needed length. Accessorize with toy guns spray painted with silver paint, but be careful and observe any laws about firearms. (Also, use common sense when carrying props!)
