Make Your Own Recipe Book

A Simple Way to Personalize Your Cooking Heritage

Red Devil
Cooking is a loving comfort in all families. Everyone comes together at holidays, reunions and get-togethers, and these events all have one thing in common: the food! There's nothing better than food that's been cooked for you with love.

You can make your own recipe book to save all of your most loved and favorite recipes in. These are the type of books that can be passed down through families, so why not make a cherished recipe book that your family will enjoy and remember for generations?

Here is a simple way to personalize your cooking heritage while leaving room for you to change things around or to add more when you are ready to:

You will need:
- A large binder with the rings in the middle, from your local super-center in the color of your choice. You can find these in the school / office supplies section. Don't get a small 1 inch binder as this will not leave you much room to add more recipes.

- Plastic page protector sheets which can be found in the same section.

- Paper that will fit into the plastic page protector sheets. Copy paper, notebook paper, or construction paper for a nice colorful touch, will all work.

- Your recipes! Have them written out and decorated in whatever creative way you choose to do so.

To Put Your Recipe Book Together:
Step 1- Place the plastic page protectors in the rings of the binder.

Step 2- Paste or tape your recipes to the pages of paper you have chosen in any fashion you wish. You can put them in all kinds of arrangements...like a photo album! Put them on both sides of the paper so you can see them on both sides of the plastic pages.

Step 3- Insert the new recipe pages into the plastic page protectors.

Finally, decorate the front of your recipe book in such a fashion that your children and grandchildren can literally feel the love that went into making it when they look at it.

Making this recipe book is also a great thing to do for a gift! This would make a wonderful personalized gift that would let someone know that you went that little extra bit to make give their gift that special touch.

No matter what reason you choose to do this project, you will have a great time making the recipe book. It's loving thoughtfulness that lasts generations!
