Pre made plain bar towels or flour sack towels

Fabric paint

At Ikea I find flour sack bar towels with a fun retro red stripe on them for 50 cents a piece. At Wal Mart they sell plain white bar towels made from flour sack material for $5. You get 12 kitchen towels in the pack. Both of these make a super affordable base for these retro kitchen towel you will be making.

Now, you have a few options when adding your retro images onto the kitchen towel.

One of the easiest ways to create a pattern on yoru retro kitchen towels is to use a pre made rubber stamp. You will want to paint the fabric paint on with a small paint brush, then press into the kitchen towel.

Focus on creating a border. Then create a space s out pattern in the central area of the kitchen towel.
