Rhinestones and colored gems are so popular this year 2010 and will continue throughout 2011. Place them in your hair, on your clothing, design your own purse, or even make your own trendy rhinestone gloves. Why spend anywhere from $5-$70 a pair when you can make your own for $2.00 and up.

Buying The Gloves

The best option is to buy a pair of stretch gloves in color of choice. At Walmart you can buy 2 pairs of kids gloves for a dollar, which will fit most adults. Most of the sets come with one pair of black, which is the most popular color.

The next option is to go to any Dollar Store, Dollar Tree, or 99Cent Store. The only problem is your probably only going to get one pair for the price unlike Walmart.

Decorating And Glamorizing

Decide where you want to place the rhinestones or gems. You can create a heart in the middle of the glove, make a star, cover the entire glove, make your initial on each glove, just place a few stones on the wrist of the glove, or cover a few inches of the bottom half of the glove. It all depends how creative you are, and if you just want simple or drastic.

Why not decorate the gloves for certain occasions or holidays? Think of the holidays that are in the winter time. You can do Christmas theme, Valentine's Day, New Years, winter wedding, or a snow theme using blue and white gems.

A simple and trendy idea. Buy a pair of long black gloves, 30-60 tiny clear rhinestones, and craft glue.

Your going to create 3-4 lines of rhinestones going down each glove. Start at least 2-3 into the middle. Then place around 15-20 rhinestones in each line. Make sure to only glue one at a time. Allow the glue to dry for 20 minutes before touching and wearing the gloves.

Mix The Gems And Rhinestones Up

Use all different shapes and sizes. Stars, hearts, circles, triangles, and small dots. Decide if you want all clear or array of colors. The mixed colors would look great on winter white, black, red, green, and even gold. All clear looks awesome on black or white gloves.

Now glue the gems or rhinestones on, and cover half the glove. Go with the stones until the reach the beginning of the fingers. Once the stones are on, it should look like a small glove above the rhinestones. Get real crafty and do this to your black hat, belt, and boots.

This sounds like it would be very fun. I've never attempted anything like this before... but it might be a very fun thing to do and then give them away for birthdays and Christmas gifts.
