DIY Organic Facial Mask

Strawberries and oatmeal are two things that are great for your skin, not only on the inside of you but on the outside as well. This great homemade skin care product is totally organic and delivers all the goodness of natural fruit sugars to exfoliate and soften the skin. This is a good natural anti-aging product that you can make yourself in your own kitchen in about 5 minutes. Treat yourself to a weekly facial to keep your skin looking its best.

Fruits and grains are very beneficial to the skin and are often used in making creams and lotions because they are known to be gentle on sensitive skin. Here is a recipe for an organic facial mask made from fruit and grains that is gentle and leaves your skin soft and smooth. Repeat this treatment once a week to soften skin and remove dead skin cells that make skin look dull. This recipe contains no animal fats so it is acceptable for vegetarians and vegans.

Strawberry Oatmeal Facial Mask:

1.Wash the strawberries and pat dry with a paper towel. Put strawberries in a blender or food processor and puree until smooth.
2.Add the oats a little at a time until the mixture is nice and smooth. If it is too watery add a little more oats until you get a smooth paste. It is okay to have seeds in the strawberry mix because they are natural exfoliators.

3.The mixture should now be like a paste. Place the mixture in a small bowl and add the lemon essential oil. Stir well.

4.Massage the strawberry oat facial mask on the face and neck area. Leave on for 20-25 minutes.

5.Rinse off with cool water. Do this treatment once a week for a beautiful complexion. But next time buy more strawberries to eat! Strawberries are also used to whiten teeth and oatmeal is great used as a scrub, mask or added to a bath to relieve dry skin.

Benefits of strawberries:
Strawberries contain Vitamin C and antioxidants that fight free radicals. Free radicals damage skin cells, and contribute to many types of skin cancer.Strawberries are also an excellent source of vitamin K,
potassium, manganese, riboflavin, folic acid, vitamin B5, vitamin B6, magnesium and copper.

Fruit sugars contain alpha hydroxy acids which are the active ingredients in many commercial wrinkle creams. They are popular because they penetrate the skin easily and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin.

This is my own recipe that I use religiously and it works very well.
