Make Your Own Verizon Wireless Ringtones

John Hillis
Can't find a ringtone that suits you? Want to create your own, specialized ringtone? If you have a Verizon Wireless phone there is a way to create your own ringtones, though it is a little tricky. This guide will break the process down into simple steps. As long as you can send a text, you can handle this.

1) Enter your phone's menu and locate where your music and ringtones are stored. This will likely be found under "Media" or "Media Center."

2) From here select the option "Sounds" or "My Sounds."

3) A list of the sounds available on your phone will appear. One option will be to record a new sound. Select this.

4) Holding the phone's microphone toward the sounds source, begin recording. Don't record for too long, about 30 seconds (less is okay).

5) When you are done press stop. Your recording will be saved. Most likely it will appear at the top of the list under "My Sounds."

6) Select your recording and choose options. Your recording will be labeled by a bunch of numbers indicating the time and date the recording took place. I suggest renaming it from the options menu, especially if you plan on recording multiple ringtones-just to locate them easier.

7) After renaming, select your recording and from the options menu select send. Send the recording to your own phone number.

8) You will receive a text from yourself along with the recording. Open the text and select options. One of your choices will be to set the audio of the text as your ringtone.

Now, the quality of your recording may vary. Make sure your phone's microphone isn't by your hand during recording, and experiment with different distances from the sound's source. That's all there is to it.
