Make a Pantyhose Reindeer: Fantastic Craft for Kids

Ambrosia Jefferson
When I was a youngster in Kindergarten (who knew I would remember) over the holiday season we did a craft project in which we had to bring a hanger and pantyhose to school from home. Imagine my parents shock when I asked for those items, but they were really happy with the results a panty hose Reindeer. While Christmas has passed this would still be a fun project to make for next year or to hang up while in the Winter cold after all Santa's reindeer aren't the only ones right?

Materials:

Pantyhose in a brown color

Metal Hanger

Construction paper in Brown,

Scissors

Craft eyes

Glue

Red Pom Pom (black if you prefer)

How to do it:

Trace your hands (or your kids) on the brown construction paper. Cut out them out and set them aside.

Take your metal hanger (best if an adult does it) and stretch and bend it until it looks like a wide nicely shaped diamond or something long and not so wide if that is how you want your reindeer to look.

Take the pantyhose and stretch them over the diamond shape, make sure the top of the pantyhose goes to the top of the hanger. Not it well and cut off the excess panty hose.

Glue the cut out paper hands on the top of the reindeer one on each side so they look like antlers.

Glue your craft eyes into the center of the pantyhose where the eyes would be.

Glue the red pom pom to the bottom end of the diamond to make a red nose!

Set aside to dry.

And there you have it a fast and easy craft that is perfect for Christmas or just for winter. You can always add some more pizzazz to your reindeer by adding ribbon or glitter. You can also use some green and red construction paper and make some holly to hang on the ears. Be as simple or as detailed as you like.

Another fun addition is to make a collection of the heads replacing the other noses as a black pom pom instead of a red one and loop them together with ribbon as harnesses. You can make Santa's full sleigh full of reindeer.
