Sometimes we want make a confidential document that must be protected from other people that may be use our computer. We may hide it on a hidden folder or we can make a password to protect it. The aspect of security has also been an important issue on the minds of software makers who try hard to offer improved, more secure applications with each new release. People rely upon the security features offered in word processors, like Microsoft Word. Thankfully such software does offer a high level of security by allowing users to password protect the documents that they create. There are just simple steps to protect your document from others.

Step1

Open your word document. Access the tool options menu. Click on "Tools" then click on "Options."

Step2

Open the security menu. Click on the "Security" tab under the tools options properties box that opens.

Step3

Set your desired passwords. There are two password fields, "Password to Open" and "Password to Modify." Click into either of these fields and type in the desired password.

Step4

Implement a password to protect your Word document. Click on "Okay" to add a password to open or to modify, or to do both, to your Word document. Done!

Remember. The hard thing to do after this, you must remember the password. Keep it on your mind or you can type and save it on a secret document. How when you forget the password? Well, be ready to find a password cracker that you can find on internet. If you can't find it, you may say goodbye to your document.
