Make Pet Products for Money

Jane Benitez
Everyone loves pets. There is a chance that you live in one of the 40% of all households in America where there is at least one pet dog or maybe one of the 36% that owns at least one cat. Sounds interesting? Those statistics mean that there are approximately 170 million pets in American households. This survey was done by the Humane Society of the United States, so they are reliable.

Enough of the statistics, let's get to the cool part. In family parties, instead of the regular things, why don't you sell family pet products made by you? Now you see where I am going. Why is this going to work? People love their pets, and they pamper them all the time. So if you have cute things to put on pets or for them to play with, then you are going to sell like hotcakes. And parties are a great way of marketing.

The above stats were just for cats and dogs. Think about all the other family pets people have - reptiles, birds, fish and so on. You can have a wide array of products for them - toys, clothes and food to name a few. Families are regularly buying things for them, so why not from you? Let's not forget the farm animals like horses and cows. Now you can see why there are large pet stores these days.

Don't worry about getting started. Just design and print out an impressive leaflet and hit the local veterinarian offices; politely ask them if you may leave your leaflets in their offices. You don't need to fill volumes in their offices, just enough to draw the interest of people.

You can also ask your friend to host a party for you. You might need to offer incentives though, but this part shouldn't be hard. Once you have one arranged, booking more parties should be easier. Companies usually offer a certain percentage of profit to their host, so considering this option might be a good idea.

As for the party itself, you don't need to carry a bunch of items with you, just enough to give your potential customers a taste of what they are going to buy. Let them see it personally and give out some small items freely too. This is a great way to invite more customers. Social interactions are important. You have to be charismatic in your dealings. Tell them about your website where they can find more information. Make sure you thank the host and give them the proper credit for introducing you to the customers.

Taking the interested people's names to be added to a mailing list is another great idea to keep in touch. You can announce new items and sales more easily with them. This will help you expand much more quickly.

Why don't you arrange fun games too? Parties flourish on games, and even more so where there are prizes at stake. So offer some of your items and prizes, which should serve to advertise your products further. The possibilities are endless.

So go ahead and think up your ideas now. And talk to your friend about arranging a party. Happy Money making!
