I will admit to being addicted to rubber stamping and obsessed with candy corn. I will combine my love of this sensational confection and of stamping by using a candy corn rubber stamp. Then, I will fill my treat bags with this candy of my affection. You can use any stamp and candy combination you would like, creating your own masterpiece. For those who are crazy about candy corn like I am, be sure to stock up while it is easily accessible. I could go on about my candy corn craze and rubber stamping addiction, but it is time to get on with the craft.
What you need:
A rubber stamp (I purchased my candy corn stamp at Walmart for $1.)
An orange or black ink pad (I used pumpkin.)
Markers in orange and yellow
Glitter glue in orange
Press and close sandwich bags
White card stock
Adhesive tape runner (permanent) or a glue stick
Scissors or a paper cutter
Ruler
Ribbon (I used mustard.)
Candy corn or other candy of your choice
What to do:
Step 1
Cut the card stock into a perfect 8 1/2 by 8 1/2 square.
Step 2
Fold the square in half to make a triangle.
Step 3
Fold each side of the triangle toward the center to form two smaller triangles. Unfold, add adhesive tape, then refold permanently.
Step 4
You should be left with two triangles at the top. Put adhesive tape on the bottom of the closest triangle, and then fold it over the two previously folded triangles. You have now successfully made your paper treat bag.
Step 5
Rubber stamp the triangle in the middle of the treat bag. You may want to practice on scrap paper first to be sure the stamp is inked to your liking. If desired, use markers to add color to the stamped image. Complete the picture by adding a touch of glitter glue.
Step 6
Fill a standard size sandwich bag with candy corn or other candy of your choice. Cut the top of the bag off, and then seal the bag with a ribbon. Place the candy bag inside the paper treat bag. That's it, you're done!
Next, decide how many you'd like to make and who you want to give them to. I will be handing out these delightful goody bags at my daughter's fifth birthday party. The glitter is sure to catch the children's eyes while the candy corn will definitely delight. The treat bags can also be handed out at Halloween. In February, the treat bags can be made again with a Valentine's Day stamp and chocolate hearts. Children and adults will enjoy receiving a hand made gift that is filled with a sweet treat.
