There's no trick to this treat! Try it!

Fudge bars are a holiday favorite and a treasured Christmas confectionary tradition for many families. This simple fudge-making recipe is an excellent way to use up leftover Halloween candy. Snickers Fudge Bars make a delectable holiday party treat or a great gift for friends or school teachers.

First, gather your ingredients for making Snickers Fudge Bars:

3 cups granulated white sugar

¾ cup regular butter

1 can evaporated milk (5 ounces)

1 package (12 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 jar marshmallow fluff (7.5 ounces)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

5-6 fun-sized Snickers candy bars (frozen)

Follow these simple instructions to make Snickers Fudge Bars.

Place frozen Snickers bars inside a sturdy zippered plastic bag. Crunch the candy bars into small pieces by banging them with a rubber mallet or wooden kitchen hammer. Set the sealed plastic bag of crushed candy bars to the side, as these will be used later in the process of making Snickers Fudge Bars.

Generously butter a square baking pan (9" x 9").

Combine the sugar, butter and evaporated milk in a large saucepan. Stir the candy mixture over medium heat. Continue heating and stirring the candy mixture for 3-5 minutes. Use a candy thermometer to ensure the candy mixture reaches 235 degrees (F).

This is known as the soft-ball stage in confectionary cooking. If you drop a small spoonful of the candy mixture into a small bowl of cold water, you should be able to form it easily into a soft ball with your fingers.

Remove the candy mixture from the stove. Add semi-sweet chocolate chips, marshmallow fluff and vanilla extract. Stir well to blend the ingredients completely and smoothly.

Pour the candy mixture into the prepared square baking pan. Use a rubber spatula to remove all of the candy mixture from the saucepan. Top the fudge candy mixture with crushed candy bars.

Cool the Snickers Fudge Bars completely before cutting the batch into small squares, Arrange Snickers Fudge Bars on a festive holiday plate for serving. (Be sure to use sheets of waxed paper or paper cupcake liners to separate layers, if you stack Snickers Fudge Bars for storage or holiday gift giving.)

Although this easy and delicious fudge recipe calls for Snickers candy bars, nearly any chocolate bar may be substituted. Why not try using coconut-filled Mounds bars, crispy Crunch bars, nutty Almond Joys or cool and minty Peppermint Patties in another batch of fudge?
