Are you having guests over for St. Patrick's Day or maybe holding a St. Patrick's Day party or dance. This St. Patrick's Day centerpiece would be great for a kids party or dance as well. If you are having a St. Patrick's Day wedding or wedding theme this would be an excellent and low cost centerpiece to set on your tables at your reception. Here is how you can make these cute, festive, and edible centerpieces for St. Patrick's Day.

ITEMS NEEDED: You will need a few items to get your started. First, get a bowl that is a large green bowl, or a St. Patrick's Day bowl would be great, if you can find one. Next, you will need about 3 large bags of green M&M's. You may need more bags if you can't find just green bags. Sometimes you can find green and white bags for St. Patrick's Day. You could even go to mymms online and special order your M&M's to say something special in green and white or two shades of green. Green and white M&M's will work well for this centerpiece also. Finally, you will need some skewers and some St. Patrick's day candy that you can place on the skewers. Maybe some St. Patrick's day marshmallows or another soft candy like that. You will also need a piece of styrofoam that will fit into the bottom of your bowl, it should come up about half way, but not to the top of your bowl. You do not want it to show.

MAKE YOUR CENTERPIECE: Now that you have the items you need you can get started. First, glue the piece of styrofoam into the bottom of the green bowl. Let it set up for a while before you do anything else. It needs to stay in place. Once the glue has dried and your styrofoam is secured in place, you can dump your candy M&M's on top of the styrofoam. Fill the bowl to the top with the M&M's. Now start placing your soft candy on your skewers and arranging them into the styrofoam in the bottom of the bowl. Make sure that the skewers are secured and not going to fall over. If they act like they want to fall over, then simply cut them down a bit to make them more stable.

Once all of your skewers are in place your fun and festive centerpiece for St. Patrick's Day is finished and ready for display!
