Cyndee Kromminga
As the hype and hoopla for the Super Bowl begins to build, craft cute Super Bowl party favors for your kids to share with their classmates. Recycle toilet paper tubes to create these cute football players. They are simple to make and you will be hailed a genius for your creativity.

Step One:

Start with a basic body for your Super Bowl football player favor. You will need to cut a piece of muslin 1 3/4" x 6" for the top section of the favor and a piece of football themed fabric 3" x 6" for the bottom section, since you will be making several Super Bowl football player favors, cut all the pieces at one time.

Step Two:

Glue the long length of the muslin around one end of the toilet paper tube. Overlap and glue the ends.

Step Three:

Glue the long length of the football themed fabric around the other end of the toilet paper tube. Overlap and glue the ends lining up the back seam with the muslin's back seam. The football themed fabric will overlap the muslin.

Step Four:

Draw a 3 inch heart shaped pattern on cardboard and cut out. Round the tip of the heart. This will be the Super Bowl football player's feet. Use the pattern to trace a pair of feet for each favor on black poster board. Cut out the feet.

Step Five:

Apply a bead of glue along the rim of the toilet paper tube, on the football themed fabric end. Place the toilet paper tube on the heart shaped feet. Place so that the bumps protrude on the front of the Super Bowl football player. Allow the glue to dry.

Step Six:

Cut a 2" x 8" piece of football themed fabric. Fold one long side over half an inch and press. Fold the other long side over half an inch and press. Fold the two long sides together and press. Tie a knot in the center of the long folded strip. Position the knot in the front center of the Super Bowl football player's body. Wrap the ends around to the back, overlapping and gluing them.

Step Seven:

Use a plastic Easter egg to make the Super Bowl football player's helmet. Spray paint the short and fat end of the Easter eggs black. Allow the paint to dry. Cut a 2 inch length of silver pipe cleaner. Hot glue the ends of the pipe cleaner into the Easter egg half like a handle. Turn the egg half over and set it on top of the Super Bowl football player favor. The silver pipe cleaner face guard should be in the front.

Step Eight:

Apply blush to the cheeks of the Super Bowl football player using a cotton swab. Dip the blunt end of the wood skewer into black acrylic paint and dot two eyes. Lastly, glue a small flat button for a nose.

Step Nine:

Remove the Super Bowl football player's helmet. Wrap candy in tissue paper and insert into the toilet paper tube. Place the helmet back on the favor.

These make these make great Super Bowl party decorations that you can bring out year after year
