Make a Unique Gift for Expecting Father-To-Be

Having a baby come into our family is such a blessing! Often times we go overboard buying gifts for the new bundle of joy. We also remember mommy-to-be buying her things that will make her pregnant life and life after baby comes much easier. But daddy-to-be gets left out most of the time and sometimes we find it hard to find ways to include daddy in the process of this little miracle coming into the world. But most fathers quickly learn how to live with a pregnant wife and how to live with a crying baby.

It is nice to remember daddy-to-be, especially if it is a first time dad. Making a Daddy-To-Be Survival Kit is a fun project for you to make for the expectant dad. First find a container that can hold all the items you would like to put in the kit. Empty craft paint cans are really nice to present the kits in. The gallon sizes are better because they hold more. You can also purchase them at paint or hardware stores. You can also a large shoebox, use a large gift box, gift bag or any other container. Decorate the container with stickers, patterned paper, paints and other embellishments. Add a gift tag that says "Daddy-To-Be Survival Kit." You could also include a message that says something like, "We hope these items will help you and your wife survive this exciting journey!"

Next add items you know an expectant father could find useful. You could also add items that daddy-to-be might have to fetch for his pregnant wife. Here are some ideas of what to put in your Daddy-To-Be Survival Kit:

• Tums - some mommy have frequent heartburn

• Pack of tissues - mommy get emotional and sometimes daddy does too

• Ear plugs - for daddy when mommy gets emotional or starts to snore or when baby comes and daddy is
trying to get some sleep before work

• Chocolate bar - maybe a couple of chocolate bars for mommy's late night cravings

• Lotion - to massage mommy's swollen ankles and feet

• Disposable camera - to catch those exciting moments on film

• Stress ball - so daddy can try to keep his calm when mommy gets emotional or when baby is ready to come

• Gum - for daddy to chew when he is stressed

• Coffee - for daddy

• Aspirin - for daddy

Feel free to add other items that may be more of a personal touch for the daddy you know. Maybe if he has something he likes to do when he is stressed you might put some items in there related to his hobbies or stress relieving activities. Your Daddy-To-Be Survival Kit will be a fun and appreciated gift!
