Valentine's Day is a day for love and happiness. What makes up more happy than having some sweet treats? You could make this centerpiece for your own Valentine's Day party at home or you could make a few smaller versions of this centerpiece for your child's classroom Valentine's Day party. Here is how to make a Valentine's Day cupcake centerpiece.

HEART SHAPED CUPCAKES: First you will need to get a heart shaped cupcake pan, if you do not have one. You can find these in some retail stores and online around Valentine's Day. Then get some Valentine's Day cupcake mix at the store. You can find pink mixes, red mixes, mixes with heart shaped sprinkles and more.

HEART SHAPED DISH: Next you will need to find a heart shaped dish for your cupcake centerpiece. If you cannot find a heart shaped dish, you could use a cupcake tree, which has several tiers and looks like a tree filled with cupcakes.

MAKE YOUR CUPCAKE CENTERPIECE: First you can bake and ice your Valentine's Day cupcakes for your centerpiece. This is a great centerpiece to make, even for a Valentine's Day themed wedding, because the cupcakes can be made a day or two before they are displayed. Be sure to properly cover them if you choose this option, so that they do not dry out before they are eaten. Next, you can decorate your heart shaped dish to display the cupcakes on with some rose petal or ribbon. Simply place a few rose petals on the dish or one on each shelf of the cupcake tree. Then you could also tie some ribbon around the dish or hanging from the tiers on the cupcake tree display. Now, simply place your cupcakes on your dish or tree and it is ready to be set out and served. Place a couple of faux roses in the center of the heart shaped dish or on top of the cupcake tree to finish your Valentine's Day cupcake centerpiece.

ADDITIONAL TIP FOR CUPCAKES: Another cute Valentine's Day gift to give or Valentine's Day wedding theme wedding favor to give is a heart shaped cupcake in a small tofu or rice box. The type of small box that they serve rice in at your local Chinese restaurant. You can decorate the boxes any way that you choose, with ribbon or paint or markers. Be creative and make them look like Valentine's Day. These are very inexpensive for wedding favors and Valentine's Day gifts.
