Make Valentine's Day Treat Bags
Giving Something Sweet for Valentine's Day? Here Are Some Great Ideas for Treat Bags!
Envelope style treat bag
To make this treat bag you will take pretty paper and make it into an envelope that will hold a treat. This is perfect for small to medium sized candies (depending on how large an envelope you make). The easiest way to describe how to make an envelope is to actually take an envelope that you have in the house and to gently pry it apart. This will give you a great template for making an envelope. Then you can size it up or down depending on how large you would like your Valentine's Day treat bag.
You can make your Valentine's Day treat bag pretty by using handmade papers, rice paper, colored paper or even card stock (which is heavier than regular paper). Most art supply stores will have a nice variety of papers for you to select from, and most handmade papers can cost anywhere from $2 and up to higher prices. Rice paper tends to be fairly inexpensive. Card stock is a great choice, it is heavier and will make a nice sturdy envelope.
Another way to do this craft is to start with a pre-existing treat bag that has been made, and then to decorate it. Treat bags come in lots of different sizes. Some even have clear windows so people can see the goodies inside of the bag. Treat bags come in different colors.
Lunch bag style treat bags
This style of treat bag is great for larger treats, like homemade cookies or muffins. You will use small brown paper lunch bags to make treat bags. A package of brown paper lunch bags is fairly inexpensive. To begin, first decide how large you would like your treat bag. Then cut off the excess treat bag using your scissors.
Making the treat bag is only half of the process. The other half of making the treat bag is decorating it. This can be lots of fun, you can decorate your treat bag in so many ways. Here are some ideas to get you started.
Rubber stamps
Why not stamp hearts all over the bags? Perfect for Valentine's Day. Or perhaps find a rubber stamp with a Cupid shooting his bow and arrow in the air. You can also find stamps with letters, and you can put the person's name on the treat bag.
Stickers
Stickers are great, there are so many sticker choices available now. Hearts are a classic choice. Another great idea are lipstick kisses, which will look very sassy. So are "x" and "o". When you visit the sticker aisle you are sure to find lots of great sticker ideas to create great Valentine's Day treat bags.
Markers
You can also use fancy markers - like metallic markers or calligraphy markers, and write all over the bags. Write "Happy Valentine's Day" or some other sweet greeting that will be perfect for Valentine's Day.
Tie the treat bag with a nice bow, or add a stick on bow.
