Making a wreath is easy and fun to do. To make most wreath projects you will need to have at least a hot glue gun, a wreath to use to decorate and also a pair of scissors. You will also need some items to decorate your wreath.
Here are two project ideas for a Valentine's Day wreath. I hope these ideas inspire you to have a lovely Valentine's Day wreath for your home!
Rose Wreath
To make this project you will need:
a wreath to decorate, ideally heart shaped
silk roses in red or pink or even white
red and pink ribbons about two inches wide
scissors
a hot glue gun
You can make this project whether or not your wreath is heart-shaped, but this project looks just adorable with a heart-shaped wreath. You can find heart-shaped wreaths at most craft stores especially at Valentine's Day time.
Take the red ribbon and wrap it around the wreath one way and tie it at the bottom of the wreath in a simple bow. Then take the pink ribbon and wrap the ribbon in the opposite way so the ribbons criss-cross and then tie the ribbon at the bottom of the wreath also so both ribbons meet at the bottom.
The silk roses probably come with stems and leaves. Take the heads of the flowers off. You can use the leaves if you wish to, see if you like the way they look on the wreath next to the flowers. Take the glue gun and glue the flowers onto the wreath. Glue the roses onto the wreath in a balanced pattern all over the wreath.
Valentine Wreath
To make this project you will need
a wreath, preferably a heart shaped wreath
valentines, at least six and ideally vintage or Victorian style valentines
a hole punch
½" red ribbon
red and white ribbon about two inches wide
scissors
This is a pretty project, perfect for Valentine's Day. Again, it is nice to do using a heart-shaped wreath but you can use just about any shape wreath that you like. The best type of wreath to do this project with is a grapevine wreath so you can tie the valentines onto it.
Take the red ribbon that is two inches wide and wrap it around the wreath and tie it at the bottom of the wreath in a simple bow. Then do the same with the white ribbon, wrapping it in the opposite direction so the ribbons criss-cross each other. The bows should be tied next to each other.
Hole punch holes in each valentine at the top of each valentine. Cut pieces of half inch red ribbon, pieces of ribbon that are like five inches long, long enough that you can put them through the valentine and also tie a nice bow.
Now take each valentine and tie it onto the wreath. Tie the valentines onto the wreath. Do not tie them onto the larger ribbon, tie them onto the wreath. Tie them all over the wreath. Hold the wreath out and see how they hang. See if you like the way the valentines are arranged. Then your wreath is complete.
